21581 White Star Cup and Saucer
Whether you are a new or a seasoned collector, there is
always room for a cup and saucer. This demi-tasse is an excellent
example of White
Star’s famous turquoise and brown. Both pieces in very good condition with
a minute hairline visible only on the inside of the cup and running less
than ½ inch. The saucer has two small crazing marks is dated 10-1905.
Almost no gold loss, no flaking to the turquoise to either piece, and no
wear to the brown tendrils as is commonly seen. Cup measures 2½” tall by 3”
from rim to handle. Saucer is 4¼” in diameter. $625. |

have ever had. Typical utensil marks. $525. |

21491 White Star Bowl, Third Class
(Salvaged from R.M.S. Arabic)
Third-class dinnerware for White Star is rare as we all
know. I am proud to offer my first items in this pattern, and what items
they are! On August 19, 1915, off the south coast of Ireland, this
soup
plate disappeared beneath the war-torn waters of the North Atlantic when the R.M.S. Arabic was torpedoed by the submarine U-24. There it lay undisturbed
until salvaged about 85 years later.
As seen with pieces recovered from Titanic, the White
Star burgee is pristine. It is under the glaze which protected it during
its time on the bottom. More than likely, these bowls were discovered
“nested” and where the bowls touched each other, the condition is superb.
Measures 9½” across, and the depth is about 1½”. Back
marked “Wedgwood, 11-14.” China from the Arabic is so rare and is one of
the few times we can say for certain what ship a piece came from that I have
added several of these pieces to my personal collection. See photos for
condition. Several available @ $525 ea. |
 |
21352 White Star Dinner Plate, Third Class
(Salvaged from R.M.S. Arabic)
This third-class dinner plate recovered from the wreck
of the Arabic measures 9½” in diameter and was manufactured by Wedgwood,
which may surprise some of you as Wedgwood is generally known for its blue
jasperware. This plate is back marked “Wedgwood, 9-14” (i.e. September,
1914). It was in service for only 11 months before being lost. Very good
condition considering its time on the bottom of the Atlantic. Just like
those recovered from Titanic. See photos for condition. $525.

Star’s famous transatlantic liners was sitting down to dinner with this

gold. No wear. Some slight use marks. No fading, crazing, or cracking.
Dated 9-1901. Measures 9” across. $695. |

Otherwise excellent condition. $195. |

21501 White Star Silver, Fish Knife
Elkington supplied most of the silver service to all
White Star ships. Goldsmith & Silversmith, however, supplied the silver
service for the a la carte restaurants on board White Star’s crowning
achievements – Olympic and Titanic. This pattern was registered in 1905 and
is exceedingly rare. This is your chance to own a piece of silver actually
photographed on the table in Olympic’s restaurant. In near mint condition
(you can see your reflection clearly in the blade), showing few use marks
and some slight wear to the burgee. This is the first time I have been able
to offer cutlery in this pattern. Grab it while you can! Several available
@ $225 ea. (Archival photo National
Maritime Museum circa 1920). |

23993 Adriatic (1872) / Celtic
Deck Plan Wow! Amazing very early deck plan for two of the first
White Star liners. Wonderful full-color illustration of them at sea.
One of the best I've ever seen for 19th Century White Star. Very
detailed.
On the back is a plan showing the steerage accommodations as well as
second class, which was a relatively new innovation. Interesting
paragraph about the features of steerage. About 6" x 3½".
In excellent condition. $185. |
 |
3778 Adriatic (1872)
Photograph
Extremely rare original print of the White Star liner Adriatic of 1872. Mounted on thick cardboard, this excellent photo
has numerous handwritten notes on the bottom border of the mount. What’s
interesting about this photo is that many of her fittings (such as
lifeboats) are missing. Perhaps it was taken during her scrapping? She was
dismantled at Preston, Lancs, in 1899. Photo measures 8¼“ x 6“, and the
mount measures 11” x 8”. In excellent condition. $150.

Of all the Big Four, Adriatic seems to be the most collectible.
Passenger has written "Francis's room" and "my room" by their cabins.
Post-war White Star is very collectable, pre war even more so. Good
thing this is pre war. In excellent condition. $225. |

19488 Arabic (1921)
Brochure
The German tonnage acquired by White Star just never seemed quite adequate
(with the exception of Majestic). It seems the traveling public
preferred the British-built liners. The Arabic was no exception to
this rule. Her service with White Star was brief, but she did fill a
hole in the post-war schedule after the losses White Star suffered at the
hands of German submarines. In her previous life as the German liner
Berlin, she laid the mine that sank the battleship Audacious.
Perhaps due to her brief service, brochures for her as a White Star liner
rarely come on the market. This one is the best I've seen and was
produced for her entry into service.
Descriptions and photos of first class, a fleet list, and great cover art.
12 pages with 12 photos. Very good condition. A slight tear to
the cover on the right-hand side. $95. |

19329 Baltic/Cedric
Brochure Printed in the late 1920's (as Celtic is not mentioned and
had already run aground) as the Big Four were converted to cabin liners, the
brochure has 14 pages with 18 photos, some full page and clear enough to see
the type of china used on the tables (and yes, it's turquoise and brown!)
One of the most interesting things about this brochure is that you can
see how White Star tried to modernize the interiors with new light fixtures,
etc., but the Edwardian elegance still shines through. The brochure
also mentions several times how impressively clean these ships are. I
guess that's the "safe" way of saying that these ships were over 25 years
old by this time.
Near mint condition. $95. |

23339 Baltic
Deck Plan It seems in every update (especially for White Star) there
many items I would like to put in my personal collection. This Baltic
plan is one of them! Unusual deck plan for cabin class (which White Star
instituted in the late 1920s -- the former first class) on glossy paper,
measuring 38" x 25", and dating to July, 1928. 9 photos plus a map of
England. These are nine of the best photos for Baltic I have ever
seen. Clear and quite large on glossy paper. It seems that almost all White Star
ships had their dining room equipped with dance floors in the late 1920's.
It's rare that you just see a deck plan for just Baltic. Probably
meant for the American market. In excellent condition with a few small
holes at the folds and a touch of dirt. $165. |
|

16922 Calgaric
Brochure Despite the dubious distinction of sailing on a "Boring"
cruise, when looking at the itinerary, I suspect that these passengers had a
great time! From New York to Northern Europe for over five weeks.
Folds out to twelve panels front and back. This particular brochure
came from the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN. Mint condition. $18. |

19435 Canopic
Menu First-class breakfast menu, like those used on Titanic, with
embossed White Star flag and gold leaf OSNC logos at top. The ship's
name and the edge of the menu are trimmed in gold leaf. One wonders
how much White Star spent on all that decoration. Dated August 3,
1912. A mark on front. In excellent condition.
$65. |
|
 |
19432 Canopic
Music Programme Dated August 1, 1912, this rare music programme lists
the selections played after luncheon and dinner. If
pre-war White Star is more collectible than post-war White Star, then 1912
must be the most sought-after date! Near mint condition with a touch
of staining on one corner. $65. |

 |
23897 Cedric
Deck Plan First-class deck plan
dated April, 1909. Passenger has written in several places denoting
passage fare. I have always found it interesting that the Big Four
were commodious enough and slow enough to refuel in New York for the entire
round trip. They did not have to buy coal in the UK where it was
always more expensive. These ships were profit machines for White
Star. Measures 25" x 19". In good condition but there
are some age holes near and on the flag. $95.

17998 Cedric
Passenger List First-class passenger list from New York to
Liverpool on May 15, 1909. What makes this list so outstanding is its
Olympic, Titanic, and Britannic connections. Olympic and Titanic are
mentioned in two places as "building," "the Largest Steamers in the World."
Her master on this crossing was Charles Bartlett, who in just over seven
years would be on the bridge of Britannic as she slipped beneath the Aegean
Sea. Among the passengers is Alexander Graham Bell. Some rust
staining inside from the staples. On the page for "notes," it looks like
someone did some calculating. $150. |

17562 Ceramic
Notepad Great souvenir from another White Star disaster ship!
I've always been fond of Ceramic because I feel she is one of the
best-looking White Star liners ever built. Nearly mint condition with
no plate loss but has a slight hairline in the flag. No missing
enamel. Still has original silver pencil and pad inside. $235. |
|
 |
13367 Ceramic
Post Card Outstanding portrait photo card of the Ceramic. Not
only is this the last ship ordered for White Star by Bruce Ismay, it is also
the ship over which he resigned from the IMM advisory board. During
the second world war, she was lost after being hit by five torpedoes.
According to one book, there was only a single survivor. A ship you
rarely see anything for! In mint condition. $28. |

17222 Cretic
Deck plan Built for the Leyland Line in 1902 as the Hanoverian, she
was transferred to White Star in 1903 with the IMM take over and became the
Cretic. She was used on White Star's Mediterranean service until 1923
when she was transferred back to the Leyland Line. One of the very few
White Star ships not built by Harland & Wolff. Measures 30" x 20".
Perfect with only a few holes where the folds come together. $125. |

 |
23779 Doric Deck Plan
Unusual color-coded plan for the Doric for her cabin accommodations.
Measures about 26" x 22". Good condition but some age holes at the
folds. Dates to the 1920's. Good old Doric. To my
knowledge the second and last ship to have Britannic-style gantry davits.
Like so many of the White Star ships, Doric left service after the Cunard
White Star merger. It's often said the only thing wrong with White
Star ships was the color of the funnels! Travel agent stamps on front and
back. $75. |
|
 |
23332 Doric Deck Plan
Emergency Station plan for the Doric. As denoted by the color, this
one originally hung in a tourist-class area. Shows her with her large
Britannic-style gantry davits. Probably dates to the late 1920's as
first class is now listed as cabin class.
These plans are amazing for their detail. Almost every aspect of the
ship is covered. Excellent condition on heavy paper. A few small holes at the folds.
Measures 25" x 16". $115. |
|

 |
16404 Doric Log
Abstract Interesting log abstract for her Scholars Summer Cruise.
It appears to have been a charter voyage. A ship we don't see
much for. Interestingly, her Britannic-style gantries don't appear in
the rendering. They had already been removed at that point. Mint
condition. $25 |
|
 |
16459 Doric Passenger
List One of the most unusual passenger lists I have ever seen.
Not only does it list the passenger's name, but it gives their cabin number,
deck, berth number, and dining room seat reservation. Each set of
schools is broken down by where they are from and who was traveling from
that school. A staggering 50 pages! Someone has thoughtfully
removed the staples. Mint with slight rust on the staple holes.

23678 Homeric
Dining Room Plan Homeric, the poor red-headed step child of White Star. This
fascinating first-class dining room plan, of which I've had one before for
Olympic, is quite rare. Dated July, 1932. The details are
interesting, such as listing the tables for each of the senior officers.
All tables are numbered (as are the chairs) and also her private dining
room. A key on the plan gives the total number of various types of
tables and the total number of diners the main room and the private dining
room could hold. In near-mint condition. One arrow artfully
drawn in crayon indicates a table near the side of the room. Measures
22" x 15". $75. |

14972 Majestic (1889)
Menu
Very rare menu type for White Star that doesn't come up
very often. This came in a set of menus I purchased showing various
important events in White Star's history. These menus were apparently
produced for only a short time around the turn of the last century.
This particular menu is dated August 5, 1900, and shows the keel of the
Oceanic of 1899. A bit rough on
the cover, but show me another! $75. |
|

 |
23996 Majestic (1922)
Deck Plan At some point, more than likely in 1927 judging by the
evidence, White Star decided that all of their ships needed plans to show
emergency evacuation routes. The benefit to us 80 years later is that
these plans are some of the most extremely detailed and extensive available,
covering all aspects of the liner even crew and machinery areas. It's
accurate even down to the smallest details. The plan is very
interesting and highly useful for researchers. All the detail is
easily read.
Although this plan is for third class, it still shows the entire ship.
Third-class areas are highlighted in yellow.
Measures a large 34" x 30". Very good condition with a few slight
edge tears. These are obviously very hard to find. $195. |

14365 Majestic (1922)

who later became commodore of Cunard and master of the Queens. Was

23432 Megantic
Deck Plan Megantic, the long-serving sister to the ill-fated Laurentic
of 1909, was a test bed for the Olympic and Titanic. This deck plan is
for her "Winter Cruises De Luxe." Four images and dates to November,
1923. On the plan is a list of "important features," including "no
fueling en route and perfect...heating throughout." She had a large
amount of cabins with (what I call) "Aquitania lights," which allowed light
into interior cabins. Such luxury! Measures 38" x 25".
Near mint. $85.

Passenger List
Very unusual and extremely rare second-class war-time
passenger list for the Megantic from Liverpool to New York on February 3,

has a wonderful portrait photo of the Celtic on the back cover. $65. |

23667 Olympic Deck Plan
Wonderful first-class color-coded plan for Olympic with 15 photos and
illustrations of the liner. Dated March, 1929 (which is when this new
design of deck plan was introduced for the American market only).
Highlights include the extended B Deck forward suites (done just the year
before) and photos of some of them. Folds open to a large color-tinted
broadside of the liner. Many of the changes made to her over the years are
evident in these photos, including the renaming of the decks, the dance
floor in the Café, the walled-up alcove of the
Writing Room, the expanded Men's Barber Shop and Women's Hairdressing Salon,
many new bathrooms made from inside cabins, to name just a few. The
location of every deck chair (with its number) is also shown.
Interior pages have come loose (the staples are
missing, which makes it really easy to scan!), and there are some tears at
the folds, including one that is 3" long at a seam. Measures 31" x 18".

23618 Olympic Deck Plan
(Emergency Station)
At some point, more than likely in 1927 judging by the evidence, White
Star decided that all of their ships needed plans to show emergency
evacuation routes. The benefit to us 80 years later is that these
plans are some of the most extremely detailed and extensive available,
covering all aspects of the liner even crew and machinery areas. It's
accurate even down to such details as the dimensions of her pine decking,
the location of furniture, and the number of berths in the steward's cabins.
The plan is very interesting and highly useful for researchers.
I have another in my personal collection, and I find myself referencing it
all the time. All the detail is easily read.
Measures a large 34" x 30". Very good condition with a few slight
edge tears and some slight waving to the paper. There is also some
acid-free tape on the back where small imperfections were repaired.
None of this would be noticeable when framed. Some age discoloration
and a very small hole in "F Deck aft.
These are obviously very hard to find, and the last one I saw for sale at
auction had a large chunk torn from the bottom and still sold for several
hundred dollars! $495. |

19109 Olympic Running Light
And now ladies and gentlemen, for one of you, take a look at the new
centerpiece of your collection! Olympic's
brass starboard running light.
Purchased at the 1935 Olympic auction, this
light found a home at the Marquis of Granby Hotel in Lincolnshire, England.
There it remained in a place of honor above the paneling from the ship along
with numerous other fittings from Olympic scattered throughout the hotel.
The fittings from Olympic were sold during a remodel of the hotel.
Measures 10" x 12½"
x 12" and complete with its Fresnel lens glass (which, although chipped
with a crack, is still very solid). One wonders what happened to
her mast light and port running light? Just behind the Fresnel lens
(inside the light) is a layer of green glass which shows us that this is the
starboard light.
It comes complete with the original
reflector. Note the round viewing hole in the back in the fifth photo
so that a crewman could see that the light was operating.
It's easy to understand why Olympic stands in for Titanic for the
modern-day collector. Here's a chance to own what is obviously a
one-of-a-kind item as the other two starboard running lights from the
Olympic-class liners are both on the bottom!
One of the finest pieces I have ever
offered! And needless to say, an outstanding opportunity for one of
you! $4500.

Historical Society and Titanic Museum.) |

16333 Olympic First-Class
Swimming Pool / Bathroom Tile Many of you have heard the rumor that
Olympic's wheelhouse is being used as a potting shed somewhere in the U.K.
or that a collector has the clock from Honor and Glory and jealously guards
his treasure. Perhaps you have also heard the story that Olympic's
swimming pool tiles were in a garden in England. I can't shed any
further light on the wheelhouse or clock stories, but I can put at least one
of these rumors to rest.
I'm very proud to offer one of the rarest items I have ever had for sale.
Manufactured by Villeroy & Boch (founded in 1748 and still making bathroom
fittings to this day), these tiles belonged to a lady whose grandfather
worked at Jarrow and brought these home during Olympic's demolition.
They have been in the family's possession ever since. Measuring about
7" across and almost 1" thick, each tiles weighs almost 2½
pounds!
Identical tiles were recovered from the wreck of Titanic in 1987, and
examples are currently on display in the traveling exhibit.
Although this pattern of tile was produced from 1886 to the early 1920's,
according to Villeroy & Boch, the back stamp on each tile indicates that
these particular ones date no later than about
1910. The "model number" for the pattern is 562.
Condition varies from tile to tile but all
are in good shape with various nicks.
A quantity available. $125 each.

Museum Collection, and Museum of the City of New York.) |

Olympic Cast Bronze
Decorative Swags from the First-Class Staircase These beautiful, highly decorative pieces once were used to hide the joints in
the cove moulding that lined the companionways of the first-class corridors on
board the Olympic. Made from cast bronze, these are small yet stunning reminders
of the beauty of this great liner’s interiors. The top photo shows them
pre and post restoration. Measures 6" x 2½". (Bottom photo by Ken Marschall. Eric

Olympic Green-and Cream Floor Tiles
Beautifully patterned linoleum floor tiles in alternating shades of green and
cream as used in first-, second-, and third-class areas of the Olympic. Archival
photographs of the liner's interior show these tiles in use in the barber shop
and other public areas. Tiles of this identical pattern have been recovered from
the wreck of the Titanic and have been found in the remains of the wheelhouse of
the Britannic. The bottom photo shows the tiles before and after cleaning.
Each tile is approximately 6" square.
All the tiles show some chipping and wear from the time spent at the factory.
Remember these are nearly 100 years old.
SOLD OUT! As we get further and further from the auction, these tiles are getting harder
to find.

Olympic Pine Decking
Thick sections of original pine decking from the Olympic. These come in
three-foot and one-foot lengths.
Each section of three-foot decking has an engraved plaque, which reads: “Made
from the decking of R.M.S. Olympic ‘Old Reliable’” as well as a hole in each end
of the plank for bolting the wood down to the steel deck underneath.
Two different types of one-foot sections are available. The first is a section of
decking with the above-mentioned plaque. The other option is a piece of decking
with one of the mounting holes and no plaque.
I only have a few pieces left and
they are going fast.

Olympic Decorative
Carved Moulding from the First-Class Staircase Outstanding example of decorative carved moulding from the first-class
staircase. Made from quarter-cut English oak, this frieze was installed near the
ceiling level of the first-class staircase foyers. Each section of this
magnificent moulding was hand carved and shows an attention to detail that is
unimaginable today. Aside from a piece of wood from the Britannic, this is as close as you can possibly
get to a sample from the Titanic without mortgaging your house! (Archival
photos Harland & Wolff, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum Collection and
National Monuments Record Collection. Bottom photo by Ken Marschall.

23557 White Star
Rates booklet/Deck Plans 24-page first-class rate and deck plan
brochure dating to June, 1913. This covers the Liverpool to New York
service of the Big Four. Mentions Britannic as "building" at 50,000
tons. Olympic is listed as the largest British steamer while the
Arabic of 1903, once one of the largest ships in the world, is relegated to
carrying only second and third class on the Boston service. Deck
plans for all of the Big Four. It's very interesting to compare the
evolution of these four liners, not to mention the range of prices from ship
to ship, depending on their amenities. Complete fleet list, including
Nomadic, Traffic, Magnetic, Pontic, and the Mersey. Was once folded,
otherwise near mint. $195. |
|

 |
19354 White Star
Rates booklet/Deck Plans If Republic is your ship, here is your chance

her, and here she gets top billing as the "new" ship. Her
photo also graces the cover. Also included
are first-class deck plans and fares for Cretic, Cymric, Canopic, and
Romanic!
Dating to 1904, this brochure has 22 pages and 7 photos. Included
is your typical passenger information and a fleet list. Baltic,
Cedric, and Celtic are billed as the "largest vessels in the world."
Was once folded. Otherwise in excellent condition. $195. |

Rates booklet First-class rate booklet from January, 1912,
"superseding all previous issues." Covers the Big Four as
well as Laurentic,
Megantic, Arabic, and Majestic. Complete fleet list down to the
tenders, including the baggage tender Pontic!
Mentions Olympic and Titanic as the "largest and finest steamers in the
world," not as "building" as we see in almost everything else available for
Titanic.
Was once folded, some spotting on cover. 16 pages. $150. |
|

 |
19217 White Star
Rates booklet I like to call the ship on the cover the "Ojestic."
It's an odd amalgamation of Majestic's hull and superstructure with four
funnels. We see Cunard do things like this all the time, but this is
one of the few examples from White Star. Dates to 1925. Fares
for Majestic, Olympic, and Homeric. Also included are the fares for
the Big Four. Fleet list and passenger information. 23 pages
with 12 photos. Interestingly minimum first-class fare for Olympic was
$260 compared to Titanic's $125. That's inflation for you! $75. |
